XLX: When scale is no longer a constraint — but a design principle

How do we build energy solutions that not only match the needs of today — but can grow with it tomorrow?

At Solid Energy, we have been working on just that issue. The result is XLX.

We are proud to introduce our most ambitious heat pump platform to date — designed for a reality where scale, flexibility and reliability are not optional but prerequisites.

Designed to grow with the need

The name XLX is not accidental. It points to something big -- but without setting an upper limit.

Because in practice, XLX is indefinable in its size.

The platform is built modular, meaning it can scale from stand-alone installations to multi-megawatt systems. You simply put together the capacity that is needed -- and expand as the need grows.

This makes XLX an obvious choice for:

  • District heating projects in development
  • Industrial processes with increasing energy demand
  • Larger business installations with flexibility requirements

Thoughtful — down to the detail

Although the XLX is reimagined from the ground up, it stands on a solid foundation:

  • Proven components
  • Proven high performance
  • Natural HydroCarbon Refrigerants

What's new is in the architecture.

We have rethought the entire platform with a focus on:

  • Easy installation
  • Intuitive service access
  • Operational reliability on a large scale

It's not just a technical improvement -- it's a way to reduce complexity in projects where many stakeholders are involved.

Ready for the energy system of the future

The energy system is changing. The requirements for temperatures, efficiency and CO₂ reduction are increasing — while projects become larger and more complex.

XLX is designed for just that reality:

  • Temperatures up to 165°C
  • Possibility of both air and water based heat sources
  • Significantly reduced CO₂ footprint

This makes the platform suitable for both district heating and industrial applications where electrification and green conversion are essential.

Danish engineering — in scalable form

At Solid Energys, we develop solutions that make it easier to realize the green transition — in practice and on a large scale.

With XLX, we're taking another step in that direction.

A platform that combines flexibility, performance and future-proof design — giving our partners a more robust path from project idea to operation.

Welcome to XLX.
