High Temperature Air Source Heat Pump

Industrial processes and district heating systems often require more than a standard heat pump can deliver.

Solid Energy's industrial heat pumps are built for exactly these applications, combining flow temperatures up to 165°C, 100% natural refrigerants and modular configurations that integrate with existing installations.

Flow temperatures up to 165°C

The high temperature air to water heat pump from Solid Energy delivers flow temperatures up to 165°C, putting it in a different category from most heat pump solutions on the market.

This makes it the right choice for industrial processes and older district heating networks built around high flow temperatures.

Where high temperature heat pumps are used

High temperature air source heat pumps address a concrete challenge in sectors where processes depend on high and stable flow temperatures.

Industry and production

Food production, pharmaceuticals and the textile industry all depend on stable, high-temperature heat as part of daily operations.

A high temperature air to water heat pump connects directly to existing installations, delivering the required temperatures without rebuilding surrounding infrastructure.

The transition to electrically driven heat production becomes both technically straightforward and economically sound.

District heating

Older district heating networks are often designed for high flow temperatures, which rules out many standard heat pump solutions.

A high temperature air source heat pump closes that gap, allowing plants to electrify heat production on existing terms without replacing distribution infrastructure.

Power-to-X and process heat

In Power-to-X plants, surplus process heat can be fed directly into district heating via high temperature air source heat pumps, creating value at multiple points in the energy system.

It is a practical example of how the solution supports a broader transition to renewable energy.

Consistent efficiency at high temperatures

High flow temperatures normally put pressure on heat pump efficiency. Solid Energy's solutions maintain strong performance regardless, drawing on three core elements:

- Variable speed compressors that continuously adapt to the current heat demand.

- Intelligent defrost cycles that ensure reliable operation, even when outdoor temperatures drop significantly.

- Optimised refrigerant circuits based on 100% natural HydroCarbon refrigerants.

The combination delivers stable, year-round performance with an operating economy that outperforms both gas boilers and electric resistance heating.

Green heat in Karup: When a heat pump does more than just heat

With Solid Energy's heat pump, Karup Varmeværk has built a unique plant that supplies 75% of heat from green energy sources, secures the supply and makes it possible to adjust the production of heat in relation to energy prices. During the months when the local potato flour factory is in production the heat pump uses waste heat and provides the factory with chilled water.
